GST Registration

The GST is an all-in-one tax that subsumes a variety of state (VAT, Entertainment Tax, Luxury Tax, Octroi) and central taxes (CST, Service Tax, Excise Duty). In order to comply with the Goods and service tax law and get eligible benefits, businesses need to undertake registration with the GST Act 2017 and take GST Number. The procedure for GST is entirely online and in order to register for GST, taxpayers need to submit certain documents, fill in requisite business related information and file the online application on the GST Portal.

Upon filing the necessary documents and details, a Temporary reference number is allotted and the application is sent to the GST authorities for review and approval. If the GST authorities seek clarity on the details provided, the taxpayer need to provide satisfactory clarifications. Once the GST authorities are satisfied with the responses/ business details provided, the application gets approved and the certificate of GST registration containing the Goods and Services Tax Identification Number (GSTIN) or GST number will be issued to the taxpayer.
